However, if the pouring temperature is too high, it will cause coarse grains, cracks, pores and sand sticking. Therefore, the casting temperature of generally small-sized, thin-walled and complex-shaped castings is about the melting temperature of steel + about 150°C, while the casting temperature of larger-sized and thick-walled castings is about 100°C higher.
Since the shrinkage of stainless steel precision castings is much larger than that of cast iron, in order to prevent shrinkage of castings, the riser method, condensation method and supplementary method are mostly used in the casting process to achieve continuous solidification.
