Basic steps of stainless steel precision casting process

Stainless steel investment casting is a process used to manufacture high-precision and complex-shaped stainless steel parts. Here are the basic steps of the process:

1. Mold manufacturing: First, according to the design of the parts to be produced, a mold with the corresponding shape is manufactured. The mold can be a metal mold or a ceramic mold, depending on the specific requirements.

2. Smelting stainless steel: Put an appropriate amount of stainless steel material into the furnace and heat it to a high enough temperature to melt it. Electric arc furnaces or induction furnaces are usually used for smelting.

3. Precision injection: Pour molten stainless steel into the pre-prepared mold. In order to ensure that the cavity in the mold is fully filled, vacuum or pressure can be used to assist the injection.

4. Solidification and cooling: After being injected into the mold, the stainless steel begins to solidify and cool in the mold. During this process, the stainless steel gradually hardens and takes the shape defined by the mold.

5. Mold separation: After the stainless steel is completely solidified, the mold will be opened and the finished parts will be removed from the mold. This may require the use of special tools and techniques to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the parts.

6. Trimming and surface treatment: For parts that need further processing and improved surface quality, trimming, grinding, polishing and other processes can be performed.

The above is the basic workflow of stainless steel precision casting. This process can produce high-precision, high-quality stainless steel parts, which are often used in aerospace, automobiles, medical equipment and other fields.
