The disadvantage is that during the operation of the mechanical equipment, smoke and dust are flying, the noise is loud, and the environment is polluted. There is no smoke and dust in wet cleaning, but because tap water is used as a substance, the surface of the casting is prone to rust. During the entire working process, a large amount of waste water and cement sand are generated , sand and water reclamation and industrial wastewater treatment.

Common wet and dry removals in manufacturing include:

1. Clean the drum. Put the casting and star iron into the circular drum. When the drum rotates, with the help of the casting, the star iron and the waste sand collide with each other, remove the sand inside and outside the casting, polish the surface of the casting, and partially remove burrs and burrs. This This kind of mechanical equipment can remove large, medium and small castings with simple appearance and thick wall.

2. Shot blasting. The impact energy of steel balls, iron shots, and abrasive flow removes cores, stuck sand, and polishes the surface of castings. In addition, common shot blasting mechanical equipment also includes shot blasting tables and shot blasting chambers. Shot blasting machinery and equipment used for continuous manufacturing include chain plate shot blasting drums, rotating shot blasting tables, suspended continuous production shot blasting chambers, etc. The operation and maintenance costs of this kind of mechanical equipment are relatively high.

3. Hydropower sand cleaning. Through the pipeline from the nozzle to the casting, the mechanical energy and erosion effect of the flowing water are used to remove the sand attached to the core and castings. Hydropower sand cleaning is generally equipped with an open sand cleaning system composed of channel steel and thick steel plates. There is a rotating worktable at the bottom of the chamber, and the spray gun is installed on the outer wall. It can move and rotate left and right, so that high-pressure water can be irradiated to all positions except the bottom of the casting. Sometimes in order to improve the efficiency of removing sand adhering to the surface of precision castings, quartz sand, etc. The wear-resistant material is introduced into the appropriate part of the spray gun to obtain a high-speed water-sand flow. It is generally called water-sand cleaning.

4. Water blasting. After the casting is poured, when the casting is cooled to the required temperature, it is boxed and immediately penetrates into the reservoir. Water penetrates into the casting through all gaps, contacts with high-temperature metal materials, and rapidly gasifies and explodes. The vibration wave can remove the attached The sand base inside and outside the casting. The water blasting method has the advantages of fast working speed and high efficiency, and is widely used in steel casting production workshops in my country. It is generally used to solve stainless steel castings with a carbon content of less than 0.35%.
